about

Originally composed by Aphex Twin and played on a Disklavier from a MIDI file, “Avril 14th” is an evocative track that brings images of pensive solitude. Classically trained harpist Victoria Lekson is heavily inspired by artists like Aphex Twin and reimagines this song with her harp. “I remember hearing this piece for the first time when I was in college back in 2013 and thinking it would fit perfectly on the harp. The organic sounds of the Disklavier perfectly captured on the original Apex Twin recording add a fantastic layer of inspiration that I seek to capture with my harp performance,” Victoria shares. “I am so excited to share with you my rendition of this deeply meaningful piece.”
